Dear Graham:

Yesterday the Humboldt portrait hangs in the gallery of the CIDE´s main Library.
Actually also a facsimile of the Disturnell map.
A small but emotional ceremony was held with students and faculty to celebrate the inauguration if you will.
A visiting German scholar gave a very interesting lecture of the portrait and Humboldt´s contributions to science and Mexico.
Turns out Humboldt was granted honorary Mexican citizenship in the XIX century.
Everybody was very happy.
I gave a short speech and said among other things:
“Thanks to renowned New York gallerist, Graham Arader, Humboldt´s portrait hangs, hopefully for many years to come, at CIDE. I envision myself a link in a long chain of generosity to celebrate the merits of this noble institution”.
I hope to send a couple of photos shortly and see you soon.
Best regards
Agustin
